Herald Restoration Weeks 12-13
Progress continued with the return of the frame and a number of other body parts for the Herald. The frame was off to the welder who found that most of the welds were rusted, faulty or inadequate. He also repaired a number of weak spots in the frame. Next week the frame, doors, sills and other parts are going to be primed and painted. Lake Side painters are researching the paint color to try to get the closest match to the original. The engine and head is at the machine shop and next week we will find out what parts are needed to make it like new. Hopefully reassembly can start March 1. At home I continued to prime and paint suspension and engine parts.
