Weeks 4 and 5 - Christmas 2012 - New Year's 2013
The shop was closed so I concentrated on restoring the parts I had at home. I also brought the chrome bits to Courtesy Metal Plating in Villa Park, IL; the wheels and some body parts to RediStrip in Roselle, IL (to be delivered after New Year's with all other pieces picked up at that time); the convertible frame to Grover Welding in Skokie; the interior was evaluated by Beil Upholstery in Chicago who will restore the original interior after New Year's; and finally I discussed painting with a new auto painter close to home. I have spent an average of 5 hours a day on these projects. Oh yes, I also sorted a plethora of parts that arrived from the UK. Some are missing...
